Are the journal publishing agreements (for authors) and licensing arrangements for this new journal the same as for other ACS journals?
ACS Omega authors follow the same process as all other ACS authors who choose to pursue an open access option. The authors sign the ACS’s standard Journal Publishing Agreement when their manuscripts are submitted. Yes. As an open access journal, all content will remain available free of access/subscription fees.
The journal began to accept manuscript submissions in April 2016. Submissions are made online through ACS Paragon Plus at https://acs.manuscriptcentral.com/acs and instructions for authors are available at http://pubs.acs.org/page/acsodf/submission/index.html. The journal is expected to start publishing its first content in early Summer 2016.
Yes. Authors who earned ACS Author Rewards article credits for publishing in an ACS journal in 2014 will be able to redeem these credits for publication in ACS Omega. ACS Author Rewards may be redeemed through December 31, 2017.
